Before you experience the beauty of Siargao Island, take note of all the important travel advisories and guidelines listed below to keep both tourists and locals safe.

Quarantine Category

  • GCQ - general community quarantine

Movement Guidelines

  • Siargao is reopening starting September 1, 2021 for tourists coming from non MECQ / ECQ areas. Only essential travelers are allowed to/from MECQ areas.

Guidelines Specific to Siargao Island

Allowed Tourist / Age Restriction

  • Siargao accepts all domestic tourists coming from outside the region (except those coming from areas with travel restrictions).
  • Age restriction: 14 years old and below and 66 years old and above are not allowed to travel for leisure.
  • Vaccinated tourists are still required to submit a negative swab / saliva RT-PCR test result (released within 48 hours upon arrival).

Document requirements:

Tourist invited by local resident:

  • Negative Result on nasopharyngeal or saliva RT-PCR Test taken within forty-eight (48) hours or two (2) days from the date of release of the result is still required.
  • Valid Identification Card
  • Travel Certification issued by the Mayor of the City / Municipality of destination (within the Province of Surigao del Norte)

Tourist not invited by local resident of SDN (Walk-in tourist):

  • Negative Result on nasopharyngeal or saliva RT-PCR Test taken within forty-eight (48) hours or two (2) days from the date of release of the result is still required.
  • Valid Identification Card
  • Confirmed booking accommodation for at least two (2) nights from the resort, hotel, or hostel duly accredited by the Department of Tourism

Surigao del Norte mainland residents traveling to Siargao:

  • Negative RT-PCR or antigen test result
  • Valid ID with Surigao del Norte address or any proof of residency in Surigao del Norte or Travel Certification issued by the Mayor of the municipality of destination

Port Entry Guidelines:

  • The documentary requirements shall also be presented by the passengers upon arrival. Those who cannot present all of the requirements shall be deported back to the place of origin at the returning flight of the same aircraft on the same day at the cost of the concerned passenger and/or the concerned airline company.
  • All arriving passengers shall be transported only by public utility vehicles duly accredited by the task force of the LGU, in case of use of private vehicles, it is needed to obtain clearance from the task force.

Allowed Activities

  • Non-contact activities are allowed provided that the minimum public health standards such as wearing of face masks, observance of social distancing protocols, and no sharing of equipment.
